1. Prune your roses in early March.
2. Feed your ericaceous plants such as Azaleas, Pieris, Rhododendrons and Camellias with a good quality ericaceous fertiliser or feed.
3. Plant any new shrubs, roses or climbers in your garden.
4. Plant your summer flowering bulbs in your garden or in pots, as well as any Lilies.
5. Ensure any wild flower seeds are sown in March. This can be done within planting modules or trays.
6. Deadhead spring daffodils as well as other spring flowering bulbs, but ensure you the remaining foliage to die back which returns nutrients to the bulbs for next years flowers.
7. Tidy your alpines removing any dead foliage and mulch around the plants with
gravel/grit to help ensure the foliage doesn’t come into contact with the damp soil.
8. Mulch your borders generously with a good quality compost or with home made compost from your own compost bin.
9. De-weed your borders, removing any weeds including established as well as newly germinated weeds. Additionally remove any dead plant foliage.
10. Trim Willows, Dogwood and Paulownia to the base of the plant to encourage new vigorous growth.
